A2: Digital developments – the internet of things and Cyber in the digital-physical world: disrupting risk and insurance strategies
Cyber remains the most rapidly evolving, yet largely mis-understood risk topic for many businesses. Much of this has to do with the pace of transformation through digital developments within an enterprise, and inconsistencies in how cyber risk is measured and mitigated across HR, Legal, IT, Security, Finance, and operational departments.
As digital and physical risks converge, it is clear that cyber is not simply a technology issue, and that accountability lies within the business. Risk Managers play an integral role in integrating these perspectives to present a common view of the cyber challenge to business stakeholders, and play a central role in identifying the solution.
The session will discuss strategies for developing an enterprise-wide approach to identifying cyber risks, how to de-mystify the concept of cyber, and offer guidance and tools that can support Risk Managers and Business Leaders tasked with managing their organisation’s cyber risk profile.
We will look at ways in which the enterprise approach to cyber risk are shifting, and how to align risk and insurance plans to the cyber resilience strategy, thereby providing crucial support to organisations struggling to keep up with dynamic cyber threats emerging out of the 4th industrial revolution.
After attending the session, participants will:
- Be equipped to engage in discussions with stakeholders about cyber
- Lead the assessment of their organisation’s cyber exposures
Identify the key steps to align risk & insurance plans to the their organisation’s cyber risk management strategy.
